I was invited by Trapholt Museum to create original music for the showcase video of their exhibition TID 8098:30, a project directed by textile artist Kristine Mandsberg. The artwork is a collaborative installation: 813 participants each embroidered a single word encapsulating their personal experience of time—on aged white bedsheets, woven together into a 455-meter-long piece encompassing over 45,500 years of combined life experience.
Over the winter and spring of 2024, through workshops, conversations, and a wealth of creative processes hosted across Region Southern Denmark—including local craft partners, high schools, libraries, and cultural houses—participants were invited to explore how time can be understood and visualized . The installation opened on November 17, 2024 and will remain on view at Trapholt through December 30, 2025.
For the video, the museum asked for music that felt dreamy, exploratory, and that interprets the concept of time in sound. I sampled bells and clocks—sounds deeply associated with the passage of time—and crafted a score with a slow-motion feel. I experimented extensively with reversing samples to create new textures, underscoring the elusive, layered nature of time.
The resulting soundtrack provides a sonic counterpart to the installation’s poetic, temporal tapestry, inviting viewers to dwell in time’s fluidity and to reflect on its myriad shapes and rhythms.
